COUPLES THERAPY

1. Extra-Relational Affairs ~ assisting couples with relationship repair after disclosure or discovery of an affair
When couples have agreed, either explicitly or implicitly to sexual monogamy, and either partner has breached this agreement, this is what is considered to be an extra-relational affair.  Extra-relational affairs, whether that be an emotional affair, sexual affair or one-night stand are more common than people realize.  In most cases, the emotional damage is significant and the success in recovering from the extra-relational affair involves a commitment from both partners.  (see Barbara Morrison's blog of September 4, 2013 for more information on extra-relational affairs

2.  Marriage Counselling/Couples Counselling (heterosexual and same-sex couples)
Assisting couples in:
a)  taking responsibility for identifying each partner's role in negative patterns of interaction
b)  learning how to listen deeply and relinquish defensive positions in order to discuss difficult issues
c)  learning how to respectfully and honesty communicate
d)  learning how to diffuse power struggles in order to get out of circular arguments
e)  learning to work through life-changing events 
f)   enhancing and building sexual intimacy
g)  taking responsibility for any addictive behaviour that contributes to negative interactions
h)  taking responsibility for any mental health issue that contributes to negative interactions

3.  Sex Therapy
Assisting couples in enhancing or resurrecting sexual intimacy.  

4.  Separation/Divorce Coaching for Couples
Assisting couples in working through a separation and divorce with integrity for the benefit of themselves and any children involved.
